Quality improvement initiatives and resulting improved health outcomes have played an integral role in the history and the success of community health centers.

Our community health centers have:

  • Redesigned the patient/provider relationship to empower patients;
  • Identified efficient ways to track and improve health outcomes; and
  • Responded to gaps or disparities in the health care system for low-income populations, women and minorities.

To support and expand on the progressive work our health centers are doing in improving health outcomes and overall performance, Maine Primary Care Association has adopted two programs focused on quality improvement:
