  • August 7 - Each year, the second week in August is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of health centers and their dedicated staff to our health care system and to our communities. As in years past, health centers across the state are joining in the week-long celebration by hosting a variety of events, including health fairs, educational sessions, health screenings and open houses.

  • March 17 - Nearly 20 legislators joined dozens of representatives from community health centers across the state for MPCA’s Legislative Breakfast. The event provided legislators with the chance to meet the staff and community board members driving Maine’s community health centers, while also providing a forum for health centers to share their successes, challenges and concerns as they move forward in 2009.

  • February 18 - MPCA presents testimony regarding funding for the Finance Authority of Maine, and more specifically an opportunity for a State Loan Repayment Program, within the Governor’s proposed biennial budget, LD 353, before the Joint Standing Committee on Appropriations & Financial Affairs & The Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services.

  • February 10- Thanks in large part to Maine Senator Susan Collins, $1.87 billion in assistance for Community Health Centers is included in the Senate version of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
