- National Health Center Week to take place August 8 - 14th. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the community health center (Federally Qualified Health Center, FQHC) program. Events are taking place across the state in recognition of this year's theme, "Celebrating America's Health Centers: Turning the Vision into Reality". Several health centers have events kicking off prior to August 8th, so visit www.healthcenterweek.org now and find out what is happening in your community.
- MPCA to host press conference at Husson University in Bangor on Thursday, July 29th to announce the release of the Access for Maine Plan. The press conference will take place at 10 AM and will include talking points on the five year plan dedicated to growing Maine's primary care safety net and increasing access to quality primary care, oral health and behavioral health services. - MPCA' 2010 Annual Conference is scheduled to take place on October 26th and 27th at the Bar Harbor Regency. This is our largest event of the year, so mark your calendars and plan to join us. The theme for this year's event is "Leveraging Community Health to Succeed in Health Reform: Where Primary Care and Population Health Converge", which speaks to the efforts undertaken by our safety net to reshape the access to and delivery of care, and to the evolving roles of health centers, the Maine PCA, and our public and community partners in the context of health reform. - August 7 - Each year, the second week in August is dedicated to recognizing the contributions of health centers and their dedicated staff to our health care system and to our communities. As in years past, health centers across the state are joining in the week-long celebration by hosting a variety of events, including health fairs, educational sessions, health screenings and open houses.

March 17 - Nearly 20 legislators joined dozens of representatives from community health centers across the state for MPCA’s Legislative Breakfast. The event provided legislators with the chance to meet the staff and community board members driving Maine’s community health centers, while also providing a forum for health centers to share their successes, challenges and concerns as they move forward in 2009.
